Your tasks
Job Purpose:
Working with in the training department for Skytanking Aviation Services you will be responsible for a dedicated Station and occasionally assisting at our other stations when needed. Reporting in to the Training Manager you will be responsible for full oversight of training on the station for both FOH and BOH, including but not limited to, all induction and mandatory training of any new staff, progressing and upskilling of existing staff, and re-training of any staff as required. You will be responsible for maintaining training oversight from a compliance perspective to ensure that all departments are fully compliant with both Company and legislative requirements.  You will be responsible for maintaining oversight of a training matrix to ensure that staff remain compliant and training is in date. You will assist with station auditing to ensure processes and procedures are being followed in the live operation, and will assist with external station audits by customer airlines and regulatory bodies.

Main Responsibilities & Objectives:
  • Working as part of the training department team, to secure the regular mandatory training of employees and that all employees training is relevant and current
  • Based at Birmingham airport but occasional travel will be required to our other stations when training is required
  • Working flexible hours to suit the training needs of employees (can include night shifts with notice given in advance)
  • Deliver training across all stations in line with compliance and legislative standards
  • Maintain a knowledge and awareness of Industry Standards in relation to the regulatory legislations and ensuring any changes are reflected within working procedures
  • Keep up to date with modern processes and techniques, with special reference to safety and training
  • Administer, maintain, and report from the Learning Management System
  • Maintain liaison with HR and Training departments, enforcement agencies and local authorities
  • Ensure all processes, and any related training given is in accordance with the UK CAA National Aviation Security Programme
  • Deliver induction, classroom, and practical training across all departments
  • Carry out audits to ensure training is effective and Assist with external station audits from a training & compliance perspective.
  • Attend training courses by new customer airlines which may be off station

Qualifications & Experience:

  • English and Math’s GCSE grade C or above
  • Formal Training Qualification (AET) and ideally a CIN Qualification (Security compliance)
  • A Background in Aviation and Ground Handling, Ramp activities and ground servicing equipment
  • Background in Front of House duties as well as Operations & Dispatch is a plus

Must be able to:
  • without exception, provide a 5-year history (with no gaps) including work and none work activities
  • Have been a UK resident for the last 5 years
  • Would you be able to acquire a clear DBS certificate?
