Who we are
The Skytanking organisation has two divisions, ‘Fuel’ and ‘Airport Operations’, the Fuel division is head-quartered in Hamburg, Germany and a part of Primeflight (head-quartered in Houston, USA). All references in this JD are on the basis of operating within the Airport Operations division only; which is currently based in London, England and operating in the U.K., Netherlands and Italy.

The HR Project and Operational Excellence Manager will provide operational HR support to the Skytanking UK team based in London, and wider HR team across the UK; and lead on a wide range of HR projects inducing business improvement initiatives, HR transformation & change projects, acquisition integration, and harmonization. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to HR projects while supporting the management of Business-as- usual (BAU) activities to drive operational excellence.

This role will play a key part in delivering HR transformation initiatives in a rapidly growing business, collaborating closely with the operational business to make a real difference. Responsible for identifying, developing and implementing innovative people projects that improve employee engagement, organisational performance and effectively support strategic priorities, mission and values. As well as providing governance and management of the HR projects, this role will have a very hands-on approach to implement and fully deliver those projects.

Your tasks
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES LINKED TO OBJECTIVE AREAS 

  • Act as the main point of contact for HR transformation projects including updates and escalation support to the HR Director, Senior Leadership team and Skytanking PMO
  • Lead and manage HR change and transformation programmes including process improvement projects, to optimise the efficiency of HR operations
  • Develop change management strategies that minimize disruption and support the business to deliver growth plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that support key business priorities
  • Deliver pragmatic HR solutions that are both commercial and operational aligned to the business strategy, and fully compliant with company policy and law
  • Implement PMO governance frameworks, ensuring that HR projects are delivered on time, within scope and on budget
  • Maintain project documentation where appropriate including reports, risk register and tracking mechanisms
  • Ensure consistent tracking and prioritization of HR support requests
  • Play a crucial role in providing HR support for contract tenders
  • Support M&A activities across the UK within the non-fuel business including due diligence, consultation, TUPE transfers and  integration delivery 
  • Provide expert guidance on restructures, acquisitions, TUPE and redundancies
  • Actively support with post-acquisition business integration and harmonisation initiatives
  • Act as a subject matter expert on employee relations and represent ER in collective consultations, working collaboratively with unions and works councils where required, in support of transformation and people engagement projects.
  • 2025 key projects to include
  • Develop a suite of HR policies and procedures for the business that are aligned with the company’s core values and fully compliant with changing legislation
  • Produce standard operating procedures (SOPs), process maps, forms and templates 
  • Implement and drive process change and automation, identifying technologies and automation to deliver lean / productive solutions within the business
  • Support the development of a HR compliance and governance framework
  • Develop a HR Sharepoint in line with model in place in parent company
  • Develop a suite of HR KPIs / metrics to improve HR analytics and decision making 
  • Provide company-wide information by interpreting people data and analysing figures on staff turnover, cost per hire etc.
  • Deliver on a range of post integration – harmonisation projects
  • Play an active role in a potential HRIS/ERP system change
  • Support acquired businesses by addressing people-related challenges and engagement issues
  • Work closely with the operational team in support of demand planning and resource planning, and the creation of standard operating models
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the management team, offering guidance on HR transformation initiatives 
  • Engage with the all levels of the business to implement change projects through workshops and regular employee communications
  • Adhere to safety policies and practices, ensuring all change activities support a safe and just working culture
  • Champion the development of a performance culture 
  • Be our ambassador, representing Skytanking in a professional and brand-aligned manner, reflecting our values and business strategy  and represent the HR department consistently and with professionalism.
Your profile
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Qualifications    
•    Bachelor’s degree is minimum
•    CIPD qualified (level 7 or above) with evidence of continuous professional development.
•    Minimum 10 years in a senior HR Management role

Experience/ Knowledge/skills
  • Demonstrable experience managing HR Projects, HR transformation and acquisition integrations at a manager level
  • Experience with acquisition, integration and change management processes
  • •Strong understanding of change management principles
  • Previously worked in an Agile environment
  • Strong knowledge of PMO governance, project methodologies and risk management
  • Strong generalist HR experience with a solid understanding of employment law and best practices
  • Proven ability to manage a varied workload with changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Effective stakeholder management and engagement skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and HR systems
  • Spoken and written fluency in English is mandatory; spoken and written fluency in another European language (as a second language) would be an advantage
  • Role is based in London (4 days per week) but will require travel across the network in Europe (UK, Netherlands and Italy)
  • Can obtain security clearance and qualify for an air-side security pass (no legal restrictions)
  • Possesses a full clean UK driving licence.
