Role Overview
This is an exciting new role within the Skytanking operation, designed to enhance the effectiveness and responsiveness of our airside resource planning.
Reporting to the Airside Operations Manager, the Airside Allocator is responsible for managing the daily allocation of ramp, baggage hall, and operations staff, ground service equipment (GSE), and key operational tasks to ensure smooth and efficient airside performance. This role involves close coordination with supervisors, duty managers, and frontline teams to respond to operational changes, including delays, weather disruptions, and ATC restrictions. The allocator will utilise a resource management tool to plan and adjust resource allocation in real-time.
Success in this role requires exceptional communication skills. The Airside Allocator must be confident in giving clear, assertive instructions while maintaining professionalism, particularly when managing a busy workforce with varying levels of experience. They must be able to engage and motivate staff effectively, address performance issues when necessary, and ensure that operational demands are met efficiently and safely.

Your tasks
Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Allocation: Assigning ramp, baggage hall, and operations staff to flights and tasks, ensuring efficient and balanced coverage across the operation.
  • Equipment Allocation: Managing the deployment of GSE and other operational equipment.
  • Task Allocation: Coordinating daily responsibilities across all airside teams.
  • Operational Monitoring: Reacting to delays, late arrivals, weather-related disruptions, and ATC restrictions to adjust resource allocation as needed.
  • GSE Maintenance Coordination: Scheduling and tracking maintenance runs for ground service equipment.
  • Communication & Coordination: Working closely with supervisors, duty managers, and operations teams to provide real-time updates and adjustments.
  • System Management: Utilising the company’s resource management tool to track and adjust allocations efficiently.
Your profile
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential:
  • Previous experience in ramp handling or airside operations within a ground handling environment.
  • Strong operational planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to deliver firm, clear instructions while maintaining a professional and collaborative approach.
  • The confidence to manage a diverse workforce, resolve issues effectively, and maintain operational discipline in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability to dynamic and rapidly changing operational conditions.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience in staff or resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of airport safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with ground service equipment (GSE) and its operational requirements.
Working Conditions
  • Office-based role with close collaboration with airside teams.
  • Shift Pattern: Day shifts, pattern to be confirmed at interview.
